@manton I was discussing this with a friend the other day.
If the lower socioeconomic groups are going to have no jobs, we as a society need to look after our society. The only way to do that is a UBI for those groups of people.
The issue with UBI is ultimately we’ll all be on money that’s enough to “own nothing, and be happy”.
Just enough money to pay our rent, lease on vehicles/transport, food and consumerism.
No tax to the UBI earners, and the money going straight back into consumerism.
The tax though, should then be put on the rich, and the companies that supply the products. They should be heavily taxes in order not to line the pockets of those in control of the companies and instead those monies go back into helping society as a whole with universal welfare and improving our way of life as humans in general.

@kagihq - You know, I even appreciate your email newsletters in my inbox.
I only just realized this, but your links don’t have any built in tracking in them either. Just a pure email newsletter in my inbox.
Kudos.

@jimmitchell that keyboard looks really nice. Might have to upgrade from my Logitech MX Mechanical Mini when this one has had its life.
-
@mangatake well by reading your later post, looks like the universe listened to you and gave you one game, not two :)
-
@mangatake glad you enjoyed the session. Love to know how it works out by the end of the campaign :)
-
@FediTips you’d only really need one follower on an instance like Mastodon.social in order for your post to then federate on that instance. Especially if that follower interacts with the content.

@techlore omg I am so glad I ditched them a while back now. They wanted $200USD for me to cancel early because of their subscription and pricing model. Even after having had my subscription active MORE than the original 12 months I had agreed to.
They are the filthiest company I have dealt with yet. Even their staff are useless to help.
I just cancelled my credit card to get out of their fees and opened a new one. Screw them.

@manton +1 for this feature. I am using #FluentReader for now. Micro.blog would do a much better job on my timeline.
-
@mangatake thanks :)
-
@axxuy darn ok. I haven’t tried getting it all working on my own and am relying on Micro.Blog.
-
@axxuy does this help in any way? book.micro.blog/webmentio…
-
@manton what’s the goal for micro.one versus micro.blog? Is it an easier barrier to entry for new users compared to micro.blog or something? I’m asking not for myself, but from the perspective of people like my mother and father who recently retired and do painting and photography respectively but don’t have blogs or an avenue to share besides larger silos.
-
@manton what’s the difference with micro.one and micro.blog? Are they different products or just different subscriptions? I use Micro.blog.
-
@mangatake yeah everyone had fun. Hope yours was good too :)
-
@mangatake well, my brother is 6th of May. So that’s 3 in my family alone that are May! We were all at Laser Tag having a blast :D
-
@mangatake she just turned 11. And my niece just turned 15. You all have birthdays in a couple day spread hehehe.
-
@wplalonde fungi are so fascinating.
-
@shellsharks nah, it’s just that the internet is already dead and AI is manipulating and actually creating all content already.
There’s only a few of us real humans left online.
-
@mangatake happy Birthday! My daughters 11th was only on the 14th.
