Shutting down the #NAS after 58 days of uptime. It’s been running well. Just installing a #UPS to protect my drives now that I am so highly dependent of it!

Finally logged into #OpenSimulator and done some #VibeCoding on my #SurvivorCore RPG game I’ve been working on and uploaded the changes to #GitHub. Check it out at github.com/TemujinCa… - doesn’t do much besides track player stats and added consumable items (#AI did!)

Started the day off with a coffee and experienced a couple power surges today in the home office. Glad I have a #UPS. But I also purchased a second one for my #NAS as I really don’t want to start getting errors on the hard drives when they are doing their thing!

I got a #RodecasterDuo and finished setting it up on #POP_OS, will be fun doing my #LiveStream with it soon. Managed to get 3 USB channels/sources to route my sounds working on it without relying on windows.

From my reading about social media platforms growing exponentially, there comes a point where growing a #moderation team is essential. This problem is less common with the #Fediverse with self-hosted small instances. But what about the larger instances? Have any #devs thought about implementing features such as is available in #Discourse. A #trust based moderation system as a community grows? Is that even a feasible thing to do?

#Tor relay successfully setup and seeing connections run through my server.

I’ve enabled #Snowflake on my system, and will setup a VM as middle/guard relay for #Tor to help the network.

While I have been a member of both the SecondLife and OpenSimulator platforms for some time, let’s say, 16 years on Second Life, and 1 good year on OpenSimulator, it did not actually hit me that the Metaverse was already here with us until Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg wanted to create his own branded “Metaverse” to rule them all.

There was talk about Second Life briefly being the answer to the metaverse, but in reality, it does not tick all the boxes (think proprietary, centralized)

To my fellow #privacy focused individuals. I’ve been using a #Fitbit for some time, and as you are aware, #Google purchased the brand a while ago now, and I have been #De-Googling my life.

What solutions have you found for #fitnesstracking? I’d be interested to know about any #OpenSource tracking options that work well with GPS and hiking apps such as #Alltrails, or other alternatives.

I’m new to this area of privacy! Beyond just taking the tracker off completely and going without.
